At Longdendale High School, we offer a free “Surviving Teenagers” course for parents and carers of our students.
We do this in partnership with in partnership with our local “Early Help Team” as specialists in this area.
You do not need to be having difficulties with your teenager to find this course helpful. It is a great opportunity for parents to realise you are not alone, share tips, ideas and support each other as parents.
This course is a 7 week course that aims to help parents and carers understand what their teenager is going through; improve their relationship and the way they communicate with their teenagers, it will also provide families with effective behaviour and boundary strategies for when they are needed most. The objective of the programme is to provide parents with parenting for life skills, which they can use to improve their parenting with lasting effect. The programme is aimed at anyone in a parental/caring role or not, just those who would like support in existing difficult situation.
Each session is for 2 hours run by fully trained staff and refreshments are provided.
