Not everyone can afford to pay high prices in order to have sanitary products, something I highly disagree with. Therefore I was incredibly focused on making period products free for all females in the school, as I came into my role as Head Girl at Longdendale. I am incredibly proud to say that this scheme is now in full effect, and has been in place for over a week, with high success so far! It is a small victory, yet a step that is imperative we take, by putting dispensers in all female toilets, as well as creating a card system for the office, in order to diffuse the stigma of embarrassment around having a period.
