Longdendale High School is pleased to announce another year of excellent GCSE results, reflecting the hard work and dedication of its students, teaching and support staff. This year’s results highlight significant improvements and continued excellence in education across a range of subjects, further demonstrating the school’s commitment to academic achievement and student success, in line with its vision of ‘excellence and ambition for all’.

There have been notable improvements in both English and Maths results. English saw significant progress in the 9-4 grade range, while both English and Maths demonstrated improved performance in the higher 9-5 and 9-7 grades. These improvements reflect the school’s ongoing efforts to support students in reaching their full potential in core subjects.

Longdendale High School, part of Stamford Park Trust, has also seen an encouraging rise in its EBacc pass rates. This achievement highlights the school’s dedication to providing a broad and balanced curriculum that equips students with essential skills for their future endeavours.

Head Girl, Lottie, achieved an incredible 2 9's, 3 8's, 4 7's in her GCSE’s and is progressing within Stamford Park Trust to Ashton Sixth Form College to study Biology, Psychology and Philosophy at A Level. She commented “I am so grateful for all the support I have received from teachers and staff at Longdendale High School and am proud to have been Head Girl. I feel the role has really helped towards my achievements and I am delighted with my results”

Logan, Head Boy at Longdendale High School was also, quite rightly, proud of his results achieving 3 8's, 3 7's, 3 6's and will join Lottie at Ashton Sixth Form College to study Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science.

The school continues to excel in a wide array of subjects, with particular improvements noted in triple Science, Computer Science, English language, English literature, Health and Social Care, and History. These subjects have seen a marked increase in student attainment, reflecting the high-quality teaching and learning environment fostered at Longdendale High School.

In addition to these improvements, Longdendale High School is proud to maintain a strong track record in subjects such as Art, Business Studies, Sport, and Religious Studies. The consistent success in these areas highlights the diverse talents and interests of the students, as well as the school’s commitment to nurturing abilities across a broad range of disciplines.

Head of School, Andrea Jones, expressed pride in this year’s results, stating, "These achievements are a reflection of the hard work and resilience of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our parents and the wider community. We are immensely proud of all our students and their accomplishments. It has been an honour to be with these students this morning to celebrate their results, as I retire from Longdendale after 22 Years. I am confident my successor, Michael Chiles, will continue to build on this success and we look forward to even greater achievements in the future."
